CFC, the specialist insurance provider, pioneer in emerging risk and market leader in cyber, today announced the appointment of Matthew Glenville as Group Chief Operating Officer.
In this newly created role at CFC, Glenville will play a crucial part in streamlining operations across the business and strengthening the connection between CFC’s underwriting, technology and business operations teams.
This is a hugely important new role within the business as we lay the foundations for continued value creation in CFC’s ambitious plans for long-term growth, and I can’t think of a better person to take on these responsibilities than Matt. Louise O' Shea, Group CEO
“He loves helping companies go from good to great and to be the best in the world in their chosen field. He has extensive experience delivering value creation for high-growth, tech-led businesses as well as working in different industry sectors from financial services and tech to law, in both listed and PE backed companies.
“His passion for creating businesses, products and teams that stand out from the competition strongly resonates with the team here at CFC and I am truly delighted to welcome him on board," said Louise.
Glenville joins CFC from global law firm, DWF Law, where he was Group COO for just over two years. Prior to that he was COO and CTO of ICE Clear Europe, the world’s most complex clearing house for financial derivatives. He also built ICE Benchmark Administration from a start-up to the world’s most trusted financial benchmark provider.
Commenting on his new role, Glenville added: “I am beyond excited to join Louise and the team at CFC and to be part of such an exceptional and innovative business. I’m really looking forward to delivering on the long-term growth plans and making sure that underwriting, technology and business operations work hand-in-hand as we continue to scale.”
CFC has also announced a few changes in senior roles to ensure the business is well positioned to further scale its global activities over the coming months.
Tim Boyce is promoted to Deputy Chief Underwriting Officer with responsibility for Tech, Media and IP as well as his existing Professions and Healthcare briefs, further aligning two of our most successful divisions.
Former Head of Tech, Media and IP, Michael Brunero, is relocating to New York where he will be stepping up as Managing Director, USA, following Shannon Groeber’s decision to leave the business after 5 successful years leading the US team.
“At CFC, we will continuously seek to improve what we do and how we do it – it’s one of the qualities that sets us apart from organisations who aren’t brave enough to embrace change,” O’Shea concluded. “The next 12 months are going to be incredibly exciting for our business and the new roles we’ve announced today will be key to ensuring we achieve our goals and deliver even better products and services to our broker partners and their customers.”
