This newly created role will be responsible for the overall development of CFC’s portfolio of emerging risk including rapidly growing business lines such as cyber, emerging technology, transaction liability and intellectual property rights insurance. It will also see Matt take a seat on the board of directors, subject to FCA approval.
Commenting on Matt’s appointment, CFC’s CEO, David Walsh, says: “Our business has been built upon emerging risk and we are passionate about this rapidly evolving area of insurance. Matt joining to head this up is a sign of our ambition and our commitment to the class.”

Given the growth we have achieved over recent years and the extent of our ambition, we felt it was the right time for us to create this significant new board position. We’re delighted to have secured someone of Matt’s calibre to take up the mantle and are confident that his skills and talents will help us achieve that goal.”
Matt, a qualified actuary, joins CFC from Montpelier at Lloyd’s where he held the position of Active Underwriter and Head of Non-Marine.
