CFC, a specialist insurance provider and pioneer in emerging risk, today announced that it has added Avraam Avraam to its Medical Malpractice underwriting team. Avraam will serve as Team Leader working alongside Practice Leader Sharon Brennan to develop CFC’s book of non-US international business.

Avraam joins CFC with over 30 years of experience in underwriting and broking, having focused on the healthcare sector since 1996. Over the last decade he has specialised in medical malpractice and associated covers, most recently as a Healthcare Class Underwriter at MS Amlin and previously within the Specialist Liability team as Underwriter at QBE.

“As one of the most experienced medmal underwriters in the London Market, Avraam brings a wealth of knowledge to our team,” commented Brennan. “The healthcare sector is constantly evolving and the risks that practitioners and organizations face are too. We’re excited to welcome Avraam to the team as we look to support these organizations not just in the UK but around the world.”

Under Brennan’s leadership, CFC has been underwriting medical malpractice for nearly four years, and currently offers comprehensive coverage to healthcare organizations, facilities, affinity groups and individual practitioners, including surgeons and dentists. The company was also one of the first insurance providers to build cyber cover into its medmal products as standard. CFC has one of the largest medmal underwriting teams in London combining wealth of experience and knowledge across the UK and international healthcare sector.

“CFC’s reputation in the healthcare market is tried and tested, and it is great to be part of its growth plans going forward,” commented Avraam. “I’m eager to join the team and look forward to expanding our business outside of the UK.”
