CFC, the specialist insurance provider and pioneer in emerging risk, today announced a major upgrade to its award-winning cyber incident response mobile app, which now provides proactive and targeted cybersecurity alerts for CFC cyber insurance policyholders and immediate access to cyber security risk mitigation experts.

Leveraging the company’s proprietary data enrichment platform and threat intelligence feeds along with insights from active cyber insurance claims, CFC’s incident response app notifies policyholders of critical, time-sensitive threats and vulnerabilities in real-time, helping customers protect themselves from incidents before they happen and prevent potential losses.

“The cyber threat landscape is constantly changing as cyber criminals develop new techniques to infiltrate computer systems and compromise businesses,’ says CFC’s Chief Innovation Officer, Graeme Newman. ‘Our goal is to use this proprietary technology to help policyholders stay one step ahead of hackers while reducing both the number and severity of cyber claims.”

Additionally, the latest app now boasts an ‘Ask the Expert’ service, enabling customers to access CFC’s specialist technical team for help with their cyber risk mitigation and general cyber security questions, including best practices for their business, as well as compliance and legal advice.

First released in 2016 as the industry’s first cyber incident response app, CFC’s app allows policyholders to instantly notify a cyber claim, triggering an immediate call-back to the client and technical triage. This is particularly valuable for clients experiencing a ransomware attack that has impacted their systems, as they may not have access to email or other online means for notifying.

“We’re leveraging technology to provide policyholders with what believe is the next generation of cyber insurance services,” Newman continued. “The future of this class depends on us going beyond coverage alone by giving clients access to in-house cyber claims expertise and tailored risk management services such as the proactive alerts we’ve introduced through the app.”

CFC’s proprietary technology suite also includes its cutting-edge trading platform, Connect, which delivers real-time single-question quoting along with customer limit and claims profiling. CFC’s award-winning cyber insurance products are backed by the largest in-house cyber claims and incident response team in the market.
